Slimming down

Being overweight is not only a physical problem that gives birth to different diseases related to heart and other ailments like diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. but it also leads to severe mental problems like depression and inferiority complex, which makes a person impatient and irritated. Many overweight people tend to see themselves as losers and lack confidence while doing any work. People those who want to become a policeman; a defense personal or an airhostess should have a well-toned body. If you are an obese it is not possible for you to take-up any of the above-mentioned profession, no matter how much you like the profession and sincere towards it. The primary thing that you need to have to get into such profession is a fit body.

One frustrating thing about trying to lose weight is the snail's pace at which the pounds seem to drop. Then there's the harsh reality that the more weight you lose, the harder your body fights to hold on to the calories it gets and the fewer calories it burns. That's usually about the time you hit the infamous weight-loss plateau -- and start losing steam. But what if you could turbo-charge your weight-loss efforts without a lot of sacrifice?

Still, it's important that you maintain a realistic expectation of what's considered "healthy" weight loss. About a pound or two a week is ideal; much more than that is unlikely to last long-term.

You know the drill when it comes to losing weight -- take in fewer calories, burn more calories. But you also know that most diets and quick weight-loss plans have about as much substance as a politician's campaign pledges. You're better off finding several simple things you can do on a daily basis -- along with following the cardinal rules of eating more vegetables and less fat and getting more physical activity. Together, they should send the scale numbers in the right direction: down.

Nothing else you can do for yourself has more benefits than regular exercise. Sure, exercise burns calories. And it tones muscles, tightening up arms and cinching in that waistline. Exercise can calm you down, boost energy, and even spark creativity.
